In 2026, as the opening year of China's 15th Five Year Plan, special policies related to national manufacturing, intelligent manufacturing, and measurement innovation will be implemented intensively. The industrial automation instrument industry will officially shift from the past stage of scale expansion and low-end localization to a new development cycle of precise and independent core technology, high-end product upgrading, and safe and controllable industrial chain. Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the State Administration for Market Regulation jointly issued multiple industry guidance documents, clarifying that high-precision pressure transmitters, intelligent flow meters, explosion-proof detection instruments, high-end sensing chips, and industrial communication protocol cores are listed in the national key technology research and development catalog. At the same time, multiple support policies such as R&D special subsidies, support for the first set of equipment, domestic bidding tilt, and unified industry standards and norms are provided to comprehensively promote the industry to break through the bottleneck of high-end technology, regulate market competition order, and eliminate low-end backward production capacity.


From the perspective of the overall industrial environment, the long-standing problems of low-end homogenization and low price competition, high dependence on imported high-end products, and insufficient coordination between upstream and downstream industrial chains are gradually improving under policy guidance. The construction of a unified national market continues to advance, and standards for bidding, metrology certification, safety and explosion prevention, data security, and other aspects of the instrument industry are comprehensively unified. Regional and industry barriers are broken down, and industry resources are guided to concentrate on high-quality market entities with original technology, precision manufacturing capabilities, and system integration capabilities. According to statistics from industry associations, the overall market size of industrial automation instruments in China is expected to exceed 730 billion yuan by 2025, with a year-on-year growth rate of over 7% expected to reach 795 billion yuan by 2026. The growth rate of intelligent, digital, and networked high-end instruments far exceeds the industry average.


Driven by policies, the entire chain of upstream core components, midstream complete machine manufacturing, and downstream scenario applications in the industry are synchronously upgraded. Upstream accelerates independent research and development of high-end sensors, microcontroller chips, and precision components, midstream accelerates digital transformation and upgrading of traditional analog instruments, and downstream industries such as petrochemicals, power, metallurgy, environmental protection, and new energy undergo large-scale equipment updates and transformations, continuously releasing demand for automation instrument replacement and new additions. The overall development focus of the industry has completely shifted, no longer solely pursuing market share, but focusing on core quality indicators such as measurement accuracy, stability, intelligence level, long-term reliability, and data security. This marks the official entry of China's industrial automation instrument industry into a new development cycle of high quality, high-end, and independent controllability, laying a solid foundation for the perception and control of new industrialization construction.
