For a long time, China's industrial automation instrument industry has shown a pattern of low-end autonomy and high-end restraint. High end precision instruments, high reliability instruments for nuclear power and petrochemicals, and high-precision analysis and detection instruments have long been monopolized by overseas technology. The dependence on imported core components exceeds 60%, and the localization rate of high-end whole machines is less than 40%. From 2025 to 2026, driven by policy support, technological breakthroughs, and downstream localization procurement demand, high-end domestic substitution in the industry will enter the deep water zone of accelerated tackling. The speed and coverage of substitution will continue to expand, and the dependence on imports will show a sustained and steady downward trend.
Industry statistics show that by 2025, the localization rate of China's industrial automation instruments in the mid to low end field has stabilized at over 92%, basically achieving comprehensive independent controllability; The localization rate in the mid to high end segmented fields will increase from 38.5% in 2023 to 46.2%. Key areas such as nuclear power reactor external detection instruments, petrochemical explosion-proof intelligent flow meters, gas pipeline AI monitoring instruments, high-precision power instruments, and new energy dedicated measurement and control instruments will achieve stable supply in bulk, breaking the long-term monopoly situation overseas. The upstream core links have made synchronous breakthroughs, and the localization level of high-end pressure sensors, precision flow sensing chips, and explosion-proof control units continues to improve. The overall localization rate of industrial sensors has steadily increased from 35% in 2023, effectively alleviating supply chain security risks.
Domestic substitution is no longer a simple price substitution, but a comprehensive benchmarking of international high-end standards in terms of performance, stability, reliability, and intelligence level. Domestic high-end instruments have fully reached the international advanced level in core indicators such as measurement accuracy, anti-interference ability, adaptability to harsh environments, explosion-proof level, and long-term operational stability. At the same time, they have the advantages of localized services, rapid customization, fast after-sales response, and lower comprehensive costs, gradually gaining recognition for core projects in key industries such as petrochemicals, electricity, metallurgy, nuclear power, and new energy. The concentration of the industry market is synchronously increasing, the market share of top high-quality technology entities continues to expand, the low-end disorderly competition is gradually clearing, and the industrial structure continues to optimize. In the future, as more core technologies continue to break through, the space for high-end instrument import substitution will be further released, and the independent and controllable level of the industrial chain will continue to reach new heights.
