At present, China's industrial Internet identification and analysis system, industrial Ethernet, and 5G industrial private network are fully popularized and implemented on a large scale. Industrial automation instruments have officially been upgraded from on-site isolated measuring equipment to the underlying core data infrastructure of industrial Internet. Instrument data access, interoperability, and application capabilities have become the core indicators of intelligent manufacturing. In the past, all kinds of instruments on the industrial site were independent from each other and data was closed, forming a large number of data islands, which could not be collected and analyzed uniformly. At the same time, the industrial Internet has promoted the comprehensive upgrading of instrument communication technology, the gradual elimination of traditional 4-20mA analog signals, the rapid popularization of all digital Ethernet and wireless industrial communication instruments, and the comprehensive improvement of data transmission speed, anti-interference ability, transmission distance and security. Instrument manufacturers have also transformed from simple hardware manufacturing to comprehensive service providers of hardware+software+data services. Subscription based data operation and maintenance, instrument cloud hosting, and value-added data analysis services are rapidly emerging. By 2025, the market size of instrument data services will approach 4 billion yuan, with gross profit margins far exceeding hardware products. In the future, as the industrial Internet continues to sink to small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises, intelligent instruments will play a more important role as the industrial perception portal and become an indispensable digital infrastructure for new industrialization.
